New Away Kit! Darn good.

Well news are out that we've got ourselves a new away kit and at first look it's an impressive design. Featuring the River Plate inspired sash look from the shoulder to the opposite hip, it's a completely new design and one that has me wanting to buy it immediately.

But am I the only one thinking that we've copied City just a little bit on this one? Lemme know.

But for now lets rejoice in the fact that we have a beautiful new away kit and it's gonna zap those away fans especially at Stoke and Wigan.

Chelsea At The Euros

With the Euro 2012 kicking off in less than a day, I thought we'd quickly run by all the Blues who will be participating this year and wish them all the best. Mentions go out to Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill who unfortunately will be missing the trip to Poland and Ukraine after suffering a thigh strain and broken jaw respectively. Get well soon mates!

Florent Malouda (FRANCE): I don't know what he did to get on that plane; he barely played for Chelsea all season and was still selected for the showpiece event. He may have silenced some critics with that screamer of a goal and generally good all round play against Serbia but I still think Blanc's reasoning of 'needing some experience in the squad' isn't good enough.

Petr Cech (CZECH REPUBLIC): No surprise here. The Chelsea No. 1 is one of the best players in his position in the world but I fear a weak Czech team especially in central defense means that Cech has very little chance of repeating his club European wonders.

Ashley Cole (ENGLAND): He was recently called a 'national treasure' by some quarters of the media and it goes to show how integral he is to England's prospects this year. He'll shoulder much of the defensive responsibility in the group stages especially against France whose wingers include Ribery and Ben Arfa. If England do progress then Cole will have a major part to play.

John Terry (ENGLAND): Much has been made of the Terry-Ferdinand saga but to be fair Terry is still the better defender and leader. He may not be national captain but there is no player in England who can better organize and command his defense better than John Terry. He may not be the most loved but if there was ever a player who'd put his life on the line for England, you wouldn't be surprised to hear that it was Terry.

UPDATE: He missed the training session before the France game due to a minor niggle.

Fernando Torres (SPAIN): He was dropped from the squad in February but did enough to convince Del Bosque of his worth and he could turn out to lead the Spanish front line against Italy, though my gut tells me it will be Llorente. A good show at the Euros augurs well for Chelsea next season as a confident Fernando Torres could wreak havoc alongside Hazard and Mata.

Juan Mata (SPAIN): Not a guaranteed starter, such is the depth of Spain's midfield. He presumably will be rotated with the others and should have enough substitute appearances and occasional starts to make his mark on the tournament. Spain start as heavy favorites to defend their Euro crown and Mata as well as Torres could be double European champions by the time next season dawns.

Raúl Meireles (PORTUGAL): He should be starting in Poland against Germany as part of the three man midfield Paulo Bento sets out. Playing in a slightly withdrawn role but not defensive, Raúl should have the opportunity to impress but in that Group of Death which also houses the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, I can't see Portugal advancing.

So these are our Euro stars and let's hope they set that stage alight!

Great Read from the Swiss Ramble

Just In: Courtois Extends Loan By A Year

Looks like Thibaut Courtois will be spending another year in Spain. His loan deal has been extended for another year at Atletico Madrid and barring any unforeseen circumstances, his development should continue at the defending Europa League champions.

His loan spell the last year was an extremely successful one; his abilities were tested in one of the world's top leagues against top, top opposition. Being a tall lad his aerial abilities are already very well developed and he possesses quick reflexes. It is his communication and rushing out I think that still needs polishing and another spell in the Spanish capital should stand him in good stead.

He's a tremendous prospect for the future and I can't wait to see him back and competing with Petr Cech for the Chelsea No. 1 jersey.

Does Ivanovic crave a move away?

If recent comments are to believed, our big Serbian right/center back may be interested in a move out of the capital and away to the pastures in Spain.

I've seen in the press that an agent called Vlada Borozan has been saying things on my behalf, I would just like to put on record that he is not my agent and does not have the right to tell the press anything on my behalf. With regards to speculation about my future, we will see what happens. But whatever happens, it will be between myself, Chelsea and my actual representatives. "As it stands today, I am a proud Chelsea player. "I have four years remaining on my contract, have just won the Champions League, just captained my country on international duty, and am now ready for a holiday with my family to recharge my batteries and get ready for next season.
I don't know. I've taken quite a liking to this burly right back of ours but should the reported interest of Real Madrid and Barcelona manifest itself into a concrete offer, I suppose any bid above 20 million pounds should merit some serious consideration but for now he is a Chelsea player.

Rumor Watch: Mathieu Debuchy

Position: Right Back

Age: 26

Nationality: French

Current Team: Lille

Appearances: 270 (18)

Estimated Price: 5.5 - 7 million pounds

Other Interested Teams: Newcastle, Manchester United, Arsenal

Debuchy is more my musings than an actual Chelsea target but this could all change in the near future. I actually only started to consider him last week when he scored an absolute cracker of a goal against Iceland in the international friendlies for France.

At 26 he is on the older side and we would not stand to earn much if we did sell him in the future. But he brings with him solid experience both European and international ( 4 caps at time of writing). A late bloomer of sorts, he's been playing extremely well for Lille over the past year and a half culminating in his selection for the France Euro squad where I think he will be the starting right back.

Key Attributes:

Rumor Watch: César Azpilicueta

Position: Right Back

Age: 22

Nationality: Spanish

Current Team: Olympique de Marseille

Appearances: 170 (2)

Estimated Price: 7 - 10 million pounds

Other Interested Teams: None

Continuing with assessing potential right back solutions, comes César Azpilicueta. A Spain U23 international, he is primarily a rigt back who can be occasionally played on the left.

Marseille finished in 10th place this year which means they'll be playing no European football next year. So players like Azpilicueta should be open to a move overseas and the club would definitely have no choice but to let them leave.

He can best be described as a combative full back who is aggressive in his challenges. While he doesn't score too many goals ( this also a result of his team being poorer), he does come up with the assists with 9 so far in his career and do consider he is still only 22. Playing in the Ligue 1 has definitely aided his development and in terms of potential his is greater than both Van der Wiel and Debuchy.

Chelsea - Champions of Europe 2012

Just reliving the moments all over again. We are CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE!
I still can't believe it, it's so, so wonderful - its that feeling of absolute and pure delight.

Rumor Watch: Gregory Van Der Wiel

Position: Right back

Age: 24

Nationality: Dutch

Current Team: Ajax

Appearances: 184 (12)

Estimated Price: 6 - 8 million pounds

Other Interested Teams: Real Madrid, Roma

He's been on Chelsea's radar for quite a few years now; the club has always been interested but a formal offer has never been made. It seemed as if last season, we would not get his signature as he was set on a move to Valencia. But the move never materialized and Valencia's financial woes means that they will not be buying this summer.

A Look at Eden Hazard

So Chelsea confirmed the signing of Eden Hazard from Lille a couple of days ago here and frankly speaking I'm delighted. Eden Hazard is one of the most exciting players in world football right now and for Chelsea to have snagged him ahead of United and City is a major coup.

He is a versatile attacker who can play out wide, behind the frontman or as an out-and-out striker. Strong with both legs and possessing devastating dribbling skills, he blends the beautiful with the outrageous.

During his final season at Lille he scored 21 goals and made 18 assists in 48 games, playing an integral role as the club finished third behind Montpellier and Paris St-Germain.

He signed off in style after being handed the captain's armband in his final game for Lille, scoring a memorable hat-trick against Nancy in a sublime first-half display.

See the highlights here.
