So Chelsea confirmed the signing of Eden Hazard from Lille a couple of days ago here and frankly speaking I'm delighted. Eden Hazard is one of the most exciting players in world football right now and for Chelsea to have snagged him ahead of United and City is a major coup.
He is a versatile attacker who can play out wide, behind the frontman or as an out-and-out striker. Strong with both legs and possessing devastating dribbling skills, he blends the beautiful with the outrageous.
During his final season at Lille he scored 21 goals and made 18 assists in 48 games, playing an integral role as the club finished third behind Montpellier and Paris St-Germain.
He signed off in style after being handed the captain's armband in his final game for Lille, scoring a memorable hat-trick against Nancy in a sublime first-half display.
From what I see he definitely does not seem to be the cocky, self-absorbed man being portrayed in the press. Here's to Hazard and a great Chelsea future!
