Debuchy is more my musings than an actual Chelsea target but this could all change in the near future. I actually only started to consider him last week when he scored an absolute cracker of a goal against Iceland in the international friendlies for France.
At 26 he is on the older side and we would not stand to earn much if we did sell him in the future. But he brings with him solid experience both European and international ( 4 caps at time of writing). A late bloomer of sorts, he's been playing extremely well for Lille over the past year and a half culminating in his selection for the France Euro squad where I think he will be the starting right back.
Key Attributes:
Mental - Very good mentally, Debuchy very rarely makes mistakes or 'turns off' in games. He's very brave and determined in his play and this hard working style suits Chelsea.
Crossing - A decent crosser, mind you a lot of my opinions are based on the two friendlies against Iceland and Serbia so I could be mistaken, however that is unlikely as you don't suddenly become a good crosser of the ball. He could use some work on his dribbling though.
Stamina - Tireless player, he can do the job for however long we need him to.
While he's a wild card signing at most, a strong show for France especially considering they play England could boost his standing considerably and make him a potential signing. For now I'll stall on this one and take a final call after the Euros.
